A Gift Card Worth Giving

Most gift cards end up forgotten in a drawer. A plastic rectangle with a code on the back, bought in a rush, opened without ceremony, redeemed out of obligation. They are functional. They are not memorable.

We wanted ours to be different. Not because gift cards need to be complicated, but because the way something arrives shapes how it feels to receive it. A gift card from Amun is not a transaction. It is the beginning of an experience. And we think that beginning should feel as considered as the massage itself.

Seven colours, each one chosen

When you buy a gift card on our website, you choose from seven designs. Not stock templates. Not clip art with a generic “relax” written across it. Seven colours, each with its own name, drawn from the same palette as the studio itself: warm, muted, and natural.

Terracotta, the colour of sun-baked clay. Slate, a cool blue-grey that feels calm and quiet. Sage, an earthy green like dried herbs in a warm kitchen. Dusty Rose, a rich mauve with vintage warmth. Blush, soft and romantic. Mist, a sage-mint green like morning fog. Haze, a gentle lavender-grey that feels like the last light before dusk.

No neon. No corporate blue. No red and gold. These are colours that belong in the same room as oak flooring and walnut walls. As you browse the swatches, the card preview updates in real time so you can see exactly what the recipient will receive before you buy it.

The physical card

This is where most studios stop thinking. They order a box of generic PVC cards from a supplier catalogue, print a barcode on the back, and slide it into a paper sleeve. It works. It does not feel like a gift.

Our cards are printed in the studio on a professional dual-sided card printer. The same format as a credit card, full colour on both sides, on premium PVC stock that is durable enough to keep in a wallet and substantial enough to feel like it belongs there. The design matches the colour you chose online, right down to the finish.

The card sits inside a carrier made from Tintoretto Gesso, a textured Italian paper with a natural, tactile quality that you notice the moment you pick it up. The carrier folds to A6, holds the card in a half-moon slot, and carries the Amun wordmark on the front. Inside, a short message tells the recipient how to book. The whole thing slips into a C6 envelope, ready to give or ready to post.

It is designed to feel like a gift, not a voucher. The weight of the card, the texture of the carrier, the restraint of the design. These details matter because the person opening it will notice them, even if they cannot name exactly why it feels different from every other gift card they have received.

Three ways to send it

You choose how the gift card reaches the person it is for.

By email, it arrives instantly or on a date you choose. If you are buying for a birthday or a Christmas morning, you pick the date and it lands in their inbox at nine o’clock that day. You can also have it sent to yourself if you would rather share the code in person or tuck the details inside your own card.

By post, the physical card is sent first class and arrives in two to three working days. You can have it posted to your own address so you can hand it over yourself, or sent directly to the recipient if distance or timing makes that easier. For clients local to Guildford, collection from the studio is always an option and the card is printed on the spot while you wait.

Simple for the person who receives it

The recipient does not need to create an account, download an app, or call us. They enter their gift card code when booking on our website and the balance is applied. If the card covers the full amount, no payment is needed. If there is money left over after the booking, it stays on the card for next time.

A card worth one hundred and thirty-nine pounds used for a seventy-nine pound session leaves sixty pounds for another visit. No expiry panic either. Every gift card is valid for two years from the date of purchase. Plenty of time.

Three amounts, or choose your own

Gift cards are available at seventy-nine, one hundred and nine, and one hundred and thirty-nine pounds, each matching the price of a sixty, ninety, or one hundred and twenty minute massage. If you want to give a different amount, you can set any value up to five hundred pounds. The recipient puts it toward whatever they choose: a single session, a session with an enhancement, or spread across multiple visits.

Why it matters

A gift card is often the first time someone encounters Amun. Before they walk through our door, before they meet their therapist, before they smell the Alpine forest scent or feel the oak underfoot, they hold a card or open an email. That first impression sets the tone. If it feels generic, they expect generic. If it feels considered, they arrive expecting something different.

We print our own cards because no supplier can match the standard we set for the rest of the studio. We designed our own colours because the palette matters as much on a gift card as it does on a wall. We built the entire purchase, delivery, and redemption process into our own booking system because we do not believe in handing any part of the client experience to a third party who does not know what Amun is or what it stands for.

Nothing at Amun is off-the-shelf. Not the massage. Not the studio. Not the scent. And not the gift card.
